The love you share with your partner is unique, and the ceremony in which you solidify your commitment to one another should be a reflection of that uniqueness. By listening to your wants and needs, Get Wed by Ed will help you to create a ceremony that:

  • Suits your personal styles and tastes,
  • Is meaningful and memorable for both you and your guests, and
  • You will be able to reflect on for years to come.

Wedding Ceremony

non-traditional weddingThe standard package includes a consultation with the couple (either in person or over the phone, based on your preference), a ceremony performance at your location, and assistance with filing the marriage license with the court.

This informal meeting gives us a chance to meet and get to know each other, to go over the plans for your wedding, and to see if we will be a good fit for each other. This also gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have about the officiant/marriage license process and discuss any special requests you may have for your ceremony.

Once your service is booked, Ed will provide a set of standard ceremonies that range from traditional to non-denominational for you to review. You may choose one as-is, modify one as you see fit, or provide your own if you like. Ed will wear a traditional robe, a suit, or other garb you feel is appropriate for the occasion. Please keep in mind that Get Wed by Ed does not provide any microphones or an amplification system.

Marriage License
After the “I do's” have been said and the bride has been kissed, the marriage license still needs to be filed in order for your marriage to be legally recognized. Ed can work with you to ensure the paperwork is filled out properly and can assist with filing the license with the court if needed.

The typical fee for this service package is $350, although it could vary depending on your specific requirements. Rehearsal time is also available for an additional fee.

Same-Sex Marriage & Interfaith Weddings

gay marriageEd believes that love and commitment can exist between all people — and that includes lesbian and gay couples, as well as those of different faiths, races, and cultural backgrounds: "Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love." He has performed many same-sex commitment ceremonies and marriages.

With the U.S. Supreme Court's long-overdue decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, the fundamental right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples under the 14th amendment. Ed is happy, willing, and excited to help you profess your love and legalize your union.

Sometimes quick and easy is exactly what you need. Perhaps you're running off to the airport to elope, or maybe you need someone to fill in at the last minute. You’ll receive a standard ceremony performance at your location.
